BYU Academic Progress Indicators
BYU selected indicators to measure student academic progress after each semester.
These indicators give insight into student academic progress semester by semester, bridging the gap between first-year retention and graduation data. These indicators are (1) Having a declared major, (2) earning a GPA of 2.0 or above, (3) completing at least 66% of attempted credits. Together these metrics measure that students have a major program and select and pass classes that lead to progress in their program. These are internal metrics, so comparable data from peer institutions is not available.
