Enrollments to Graduation

The Enrollments to Graduation Dashboard displays undergraduate completion rates stratified by the number of student enrollments since matriculation into BYU, irrespective of any enrollment gaps. BYU’s goal is that 75% of students earn a bachelor’s degree within 12 enrollments at BYU, roughly equivalent to a six-year graduation rate if students enroll during fall and winter only. Users can see aggregated university graduation rates parsed by sex, race/ethnicity, student type, first-generation status, and international student status. Users can also view college, department, and program-specific graduation rates based on the user’s access permissions.

Definitions

  1. Enrollments are counted if students enroll at least 0.5 credits in BYU standard course sections.
  2. Fall and winter semesters count as a full enrollment; spring and semester terms count as 0.5 enrollment.
  3. Cohort membership includes all undergraduate students entering in the specified year(s), irrespective of first-time or transfer status.
  4. College, department, and academic program designations are based on students' primary major at graduation, current primary major if still enrolled, or primary major during the last enrollment before leaving BYU.
  5. Data are frozen eight years after students' initial entry to the university. For example, students entering BYU during the fall 2016 semester will no longer be tracked and their graduation rates within 12 semesters will no longer be updated after the summer 2024 term.
